I discovered something the other day when a post from here was picked up on over at Yahoo Buzz, for several hours riding high in the Politics area.  Well, to be precise two things.  One, when you write something on the conservative side of things and for whatever reason it becomes featured on a site for which the main purpose is apparently promoting most everything that appears in the Huffington Post you’re going to get a lot of response of a less than complimentary nature.  Second and far more important, while it’s nice having a large audience (for once) it’s far more rewarding spending time online in the company of a small circle of friends.

I confess to neither saying thank you enough to, nor giving enough thanks for, the friends I’ve been blessed with and by in this modest little waystation on the information superhighway.  Stephen and Michele, Mike, Ron, Clance’, Tina, and everyone else whose names I have yet to learn due to lack of introduction — c’mon, don’t be shy — to all of you individually and collectively I can never put into words how much you mean to me.  I truly love you all, and I am honored to be among you.

If somehow somewhere down the line I become more commonly read, it’ll be all right for what it is.  But it will never take the place of how truly beautiful it is to be with you.

Never.
