Touching The Finish Line
Oct 7th
I finished the first draft of the chapter for Nancyjo Mann (Barnabas’ lead singer) a short time ago. There are still a ton of great quotes I need to work into it, but the framework is there.
All the artist chapters are now done in first draft or completed form. Of course there’s proofreading and all that. But they all now exist.
All that remains now is the afterword which I’ll write hopefully tomorrow, briefly explaining my own story and how the book came to be.
And then the book will be done.
I don’t have the words to describe what I’m feeling right now.
But I like it
Voters Beware
Oct 7th
Tonight’s debate was summed up very nicely…
… in a thirty-one year old song by Ambrosia:
Art beware, it’s all been done
There’s nothing new under the sun
What a waste of my time
So take heed of all new schemes
Just variations on old themes
How could I be so blind?
It’s sad when you’ve got it down to a pat thing
Sad thing is all you’ll have
It’s sad when you’ve got it down to some sure thing
Sure thing but it’s old hat
Art beware. it’s all been done
There’s nothing new under the sun
“Haven’t we heard your song
“Somewhere else before, son?
“That was nice, good try son, but…”
What a waste of my time
“It’s all George W. Bush’s fault” isn’t a policy. Neither is hope. Alas, McCain wasn’t a whole lot better. Ah well.
Is Tonight’s McCain-Obama Debate Huge? Uh… Could Fred Astaire Dance?
Oct 7th
To say tonight’s Presidential candidates debate is huge ranks alongside the movie studio executive’s note on Fred Astaire’s screen test that he could dance a little in the Understatement Hall of Fame. There are at least a few scattered shards of light amidst the incessant baying of newshounds on Obama’s behalf, meaning now is the time for McCain to refute Obama’s lies about past and present associates. However, that’s not enough. He must hammer hard on both Obama’s complicity in what has led to our current economic mess and dispel the falsehoods spread by Obama and his cohorts, including the media, about McCain’s record on the economy.
Now is the time for all believers to pray. A lot!
