Little of this, little of that. Or if you prefer, riddle me this riddle me that.
First off, some book news about both the current one and that which, our Lord willing, is forthcoming. I’ve finally set it up so you can buy the book directly from me if you so wish. The cost is a tad higher, depending on your sales tax rate and/or shipping charges from Amazon or the publisher. But now it’s autographed. That’s got to be worth something… maybe. Anyway, the link is here.
As to the new one, I’ve set up the rudiments of a Web site for same. Not much there yet other than a blog I’ll use to chronicle my progress – hope I’ll have numerous opportunities to update. But one thing at a time.
Picking up on something I mentioned yesterday, I’ve listened to Stockholm Syndrome by Derek Webb a few more times. Quick review: don’t see listening to it ever again. Musically it’s nothing more than the sum total of its influences (U2 meets Radiohead meets Coldplay and they all lose). Lyrically, Webb tries so hard to show he’s a Christian Who Speaks Truth To Power he comes off as an insufferable bore. Which isn’t the most effective method of reaching people with your message. Webb does have a lot to say. But unless you believe in aural stimulation received when in a state of deep sleep being an effective communication device, very few members of his target audience will hear a word of it. Especially the part that switches it off in aggravation.
As long as I’m being cranky, why is it people, myself included, love slagging on Allahpundit over at Hot Air for his moping atheistic Palin-bashing whining yet give Michelle Malkin a pass on hiring the twerp? Like what, everyone is so deathly afraid she won’t link to them — as if she ever links to me anyway or so much as acknowledges my existence, but I digress — they don’t dare breathe a word against her? Trash that tripe. Who cares? Is the linkage of a hypocrite, no matter how high she flies in the blogosphere’s stratosphere, worth it?
Allahpundit is what he is. His initial blogging was built entirely on a one-joke shtick of posing as the voice of Allah. Eventually he ran out of steam and quit. Malkin brought him back. Why? Without his act he’s nothing. He has no insight into the issues of the day. He brings nothing to the table save regurgitating what others have said. Were he flying solo, he’d quickly fade from public view as just another self-centered hack.
That said, he’s consistent. Consistently bad, but consistent. Malkin’s the one whose two-faced in this, posing as the defender of Sarah Palin while her underling talks smack about her. From now on, let her catch the heat. Which is appropriate, since the only reason to have Allahpundit at Hot Air is his ability to generate heat by ticking off the base. Heat equals traffic, traffic equals ad revenue. As long as he brings home the bacon, she’s not going to give a rip what he says or does. Interesting coming from one whose turned slamming the media for selling out to the almighty dollar into a cottage industry. Congratulations, Ms. Malkin, you are what you profess to oppose. Take a bow. As to Allahpundit, his next job should be at the Huffington Post. I’m sure they have room for one more pathological Palin hater on their staff of plagiarists.
Speaking of becoming what one professes to oppose, a huge attaboy to the Young Republicans for electing a moron who either doesn’t know enough to unequivocally smack down racist garbage or agrees with it as their leader. Nice.

Hey, great post. Glad I found you on Twitter.
I don’t even read Allahpundit anymore unless I accidentally see one of his tweets on my Tweet Deck……and I haven’t seen on yet that interests me.
Don’t know what gives with him and Palin but I’ve given up on hoping he’ll ever give her the benefit of the doubt.
P.S. Adding you to my blogroll, too.
After the Palin resignation, the light has been shone and the cockroaches are scattering. One impact is that my blogroll is going through a massive edit process.
You’ve earned a place there.
Blessings!
Excellent article. I want to add one thing about Allahpundit and Ed Morrissey. They consistantly (on Twitter) make fun of their visitors to Hot Air. Michelle Malkin reads these tweets and does nothing. It’s not nice. I think it’s offensive. They also link to certain comments as ‘Best comment of the day’. I wonder if the people that comment at Hot Air have any idea of the high school humor being used against them on Twitter by Allahpundit with implicit knowledge by Ed and Michelle Malkin.
