Let’s see. Teenage girl runs away from home because her Muslim parents threaten her life after she becomes a Christian. Solution? Why, we’ll have the girl and her parents sit down together and share their respective faiths! That’ll solve everything…
There are some really naïve people out there when it comes to Islam.
From my latest Examiner post, written yesterday:
Explanation of faith ordered between Rifqa Bary and her parents
CBN.com is reporting a caseworker involved in the Rifqa Bary case has stated a meeting will be held with Rifqa and her parents at which both parties will be required to discuss their respective beliefs.
According to the report, a case management plan filed yesterday states Rifqa will hear out her parents detailing their belief in Islam. In turn, the parents will be required to hear Rifqa talk about her conversion and faith in Jesus Christ.
The caseworker mentioned in the story says both sides are concerned the other does not understand the beliefs of the other.
The aforementioned plan states that should reunification of Rifqa and her parents not prove possible, presumably to the court’s satisfaction, a guardian will be provided for Rifqa. The search for one is underway.
All believers are asked to pray for Rifqa that she remain strong in the faith and be allowed to practice her faith in safety. Also, pray for Rifqa’s parents, that there will be genuine understanding of their daughter’s faith and that peace between both sides might come.
