This Can’t Be Good

I’ve been having ever-increasing difficulty with my right hand when typing, mostly in the form of brief yet intense sharp shooting pains in different fingers or sometimes the hand itself. Sounds suspiciously like carpal tunnel. Anyway, it’s severely limited my ability to type much the past couple of days, hence the lack of posts here. Fun I am having not.

I’m doing what I should have been doing all along and wearing a wrist brace whenever in front of a keyboard. The pain wasn’t nearly as bad at work today as it had been, but I’m still taking it as easy as I can.

Prayer, please. Thanks.

Try wearing a brace when you sleep. Seriously. It works. Especially if you tend to sleep with your hand hanging over the edge of the bed.

Jerry, I advise you that, in addition to the brace, you start doing wrist exercises. Placing your palms together and gently bending your wrists to the left and the right. This has helped me tremendously over the years.

Good advice; thank you both. I have been wearing braces on both my wrists at night for the past few years plus one one my left elbow; had surgery there to relieve ulnar nerve entrapment. Haven’t tried the exercises yet, though, which won’t be the case going forward! Thanks again.

That’s concerning. Hope you’re all right, buddy.
