Back to back stories on the local all, uh, news station:
1. A report on the state GOP gathering in San Jose, focusing on the Senate primary. First words out of the reporter: “Front runner Tom Campbell…” Really? I mean, really? The reporter then proceeded to say Campbell’s speech sucked, Carly Fiorina’s rocked, and as to Chuck Devore… not a word save for how he ripped Fiorina’s latest ad. Oh, and making sure the word “conservative” was prominently featured before his name.
Because, you know, conservatives are evil.
2. The next story was ostensibly about the unraveling of the bogus runaway Prius story of a few days ago. Which of course explains why the second half of the report did nothing but dwell on Toyota’s recent troubles, starting with (quote) “the story appeared to have added to Toyota’s recent problems…”
Next on-air item?
A Toyota ad.
