Saw a pulmonologist yesterday. He’s scheduled a breathing test for next month, and he’s going to schedule a sleep apnea test and a CT scan of my lungs assuming my health insurance provider decides to play nice. He said that after that he’ll know what’s going on. He also said there’s scarring in the esophagus and lungs that might be from acid reflux disease. So we’ll see what happens next.

Well, it sounds as if he didn’t immediately leap into full-scale emergency mode, so maybe that’s a positive sign.
I remember years ago I took an afternoon off to go to the doctor. He listened to my lungs and flatly told me that either I went home and got into bed that instant or he was clapping me in the hospital; pick one.
So maybe it’s a tentatively good sign that this specialist is proceeding slowly and deliberately.
